Well, our thanks to Francine Hardaway at Stealthmode Partners for her foresight in arranging for part of her annual conference last Thursday, the Arizona Enrepreneur Conference in Phoenix to include a panel session on Cloud Computing.
I've said for sometime that the uptake of Cloud Computing has been very slow here in Arizona as compared to other parts of the country, but it's events like this that will help pave the way for it's adoption which can only help emerging and mid sized companies control their costs and grow their businesses without becoming preoccupied with IT.
The session topic was "What is Cloud Computing and it's future in business". Six panelists including myself offered their expert opinions. Most notably, Jeff Kaplan from Thinkstrategies, one of the thought leaders pertaining to the Cloud space, flew in from Boston to join us.
It was an informative discussion that I believe helped to clarify and more importantly demystify for the entrepreneurs in attendance, several of the key myths surrounding cloud-based services and applications.
The realization that businesses can finally embrace the internet as a reliable, stable and secure source for housing their IT applications was the key message that entrepreneurs left with.
